In 2015, my mamow was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's at the young age of 51. I'm an advocate for her, and for those families like ours with Alzheimer's, I wrote and published her story, The Longest Goodbye: An Alzheimer's Story, in January of 2020. I was told by so many people that she would forget me, and she would forget all about us. But the worse she gets, the more my heart hurts for her and the more I miss her. But there is one thing she has never forgotten, I can whisper I love her and she looks at me and says as loud as she can, I love you too baby. This bracelet reminds me of her, and that love really never forgets. She is a fighter and she is strong willed. She was loved by everyone around her, she wasn't only my mamow, she was more like a mom to me too. Love remembers, even when she can't remember us.
