I Made It

This zox means the most to me out of the hundred or so that I have collected over more than 2 years. I stated university in the UK 3 years ago and shortly after I got the courage to leave my abusive husband. Leaving a domestic abuse situation with two children and move to my mums to safety was the hardest thing I have ever done. Me and my two young children shared a room and lived out of black bags while sleeping on air beds for 9 months. Anyway, throughout this ordeal I continued my studies at university, I didn’t want to let what he was putting us through affect the future I had planned for my children. I worked hard, I balanced working being a mum and studying. And then covid hit! So I also had isolation to deal with and had to study whilst having the children climbing over me for attention. But we did it! We thrived and I got to the end of my course and I graduated with a distinction. I ordered 4 I made it bands for me and my colleagues. And one of the 4 arrived a gold! It’s my favourite because it reminds me of the struggle I went through and the strength I had to keep going! I did not give up! I MADE IT! And it a gold too so amazing!
