On July 5th, I had a surgery to remove my gallbladder. A simple procedure with not a lot of risks, or so I thought. The initial plan was to go home the same day I had my surgery, but I had to spend 3 weeks in the hospital with complications and A LOT of pain. I’m a fit and healthy 21 year old, and in the hospital, I had to walk with a walker and had to catch my breath every few steps. When I finally got to go home, my mind had decided that I was fully recovered and I could do everything I could before surgery, but boy was I wrong… I have been wearing the recovery single since I got home, and it reminds me every day that the progress I am making is good enough for that day. I can’t go from 0 to 100 in a day and all progress I make is something to be happy about.
